Fishing has been on the slow side with the less than ideal weather we’ve been having, but I was still able to get out there and land a few nice ones! The ticket on these colder days has been to fish shallow water (under 3′) in wind protected areas. Your chances of success will increase if you can also find a wind protected area with a muddy bottom. I caught the redfish shown in the photo on a MirrOlure Lil John in the watermelon glitter color on a 3/16 Z-Man Trout Eye jig. I’ve also been having success on small paddle tails in the 3-3.5″ range on 1/8oz jigs.
