The week started off strong with favorable fishing conditions, but unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse in the latter half. Despite the challenges, I was able to find some productive spots, focusing on spoil islands and docks, which both yielded some great catches.
Morning trips proved to be the most successful, with the mangroves producing a nice mix of species, including redfish, snook, trout, jacks, and ladyfish. The docks also held a similar variety of fish, with the added bonus of mangrove snapper.
One standout morning trip was when the wind was blowing directly up the river, creating a strong current and ideal fishing conditions. The docks really turned on during this time, making for some exciting action.
The second half of the week, however, was a different story. Rain and wind kept me off the water, making it difficult to get out and fish. The rough conditions put a damper on my plans, but I’m looking forward to getting back out there when the weather improves. Hopefully, the fish will still be biting! Tight lines!
