Live croakers and bigger silver mullet are deadly for snook on the beach right now during the finger mullet run. To get setup for success on the beach, make a double or triple drop rig with 40 pound test and attach it to a 5 oz pyramid sinker on the bottom of the rig. Next, put a finger mullet on each 4/0 hook and toss it out. Then just set the drag and put it in the rod holder — the fish will literally hook themselves!

This technique is best used by experienced anglers who are also familiar with bird release techniques. Also, please don’t ever use stainless steel hooks as they never rust and will torture any sea life or other animals that might get hooked.
