seatrout

Speckled trout season opens in a couple of days. This species has been closed for the last few months but they have been the most abundant species that we have been catching in our lagoons. Even though most are small they are still a lot of fun to catch and the larger fish that are holding near mangrove edges and points can be a real challenge to get to strike on some days. Sight casting to trout in the 2 to 8- pound class can be as challenging and rewarding as trying to catch bonefish on our lagoon flats.

Other species that we are running into our small to medium size redfish and black drum scaling up to about 10 pounds.

Nearshore species have consisted of a variety of sharks, big bull reds, snook and tripletail. These fish will continue to bite until our next cold snap.

Captain Justin and I have a few days open in the next couple of weeks so if you’re looking for a charter give us a call (321-505-8217) and we will try to fit you into our schedule.
