Pompano season is here and there are lots of anglers who are ready to get into the bite. It’s been a very busy holiday season with work and making the most out of the time we have to fish is essential.
The first thing I noticed this week was that the water in cleaning up drastically, there may still be lots of debris from hurricane Ian and Nicole but the surf is fishable. We are seeing catches of pompano, whiting and of course, bluefish. The main predators right now are Mackerel, Jacks and our toothy yellow eyed friends are in the surf chewing up all the mullet they can find. This frenzied action makes for great shark fishing.
