Hello Everybody,
This will be an almost week late report and also my very first report. The water conditions were excellent for me to fish the nearshore reefs in my kayak so I couldn’t pass it up. I stopped at my usual bait spot and loaded up on some live mullet and Hit the water around 630am and the water was full of life. Baitfish from the first reef all the way out to about a quarter mile of shore. Schools of bonito, Spanish and kings were everywhere! I started trolling a spoon and a silver rattletrap to get some Spanish before heading out to deeper water for Kings, within 10 minutes of being on the water I hooked up on a nice kingfish on a spoon that was intended for the Spanish and managed to land this beauty. I also Lost two other Kings and I could of maxed out on Spanish easily.
My trip was short because of the king (had to get him back to the truck before it got too hot) but the action was nonstop until about 8am when the sun got blocked by the clouds, the water surface for quiet but the fish were still marking all over the outside of the reef and in the gut.
Can’t wait to get back out there when the conditions are favorable for me!
If you’d like to check out the video of the king, here it is.

Welcome, BP! Great video, too — liked and subscribed on YouTube,
Thank You! I don’t post a lot because work used to take up all my time but I will start getting more stuff on there. New job gives me a little bit more time to get out when the weather allows me.
Nice Kingfish,
where is this out of if you don’t mind me asking ?. I have been looking for a nice spot to go for kings on my boat. Can never find water this calm !
