Smoked Kingfish is back on the menu!
Went out Saturday (Dang weekend warriors!) and started on the bouys looking for live bait. We were using sabiki rigs both rigged with squid and without. After an hour we only had a half dozen baits so we decided to head out to 8A and try our luck. We hooked up almost immediately after we got our spread out. Then nothing, so we were contemplating heading back towards the beach in search of bait. Fortunately I had picked up a 5lbs box of Cigar Minnows from Man Overboard B&T so we decided to forego the run and try frozen bait. Success! We limited out by noon with our biggest kingfish weighting in at 16.9lbs.
