fishing sharks

Bait pods are loaded with spinner, blacktip and fine tooth sharks, plus good numbers of tarpon are mixed in with them. On Monday we went zero for four on tarpon but had three of them hooked up. The first was to the leader before we pulled the hook on it. We got four jumps out of the second and third tarpon and the last one hit as we were dropping the bait back and immediately jumped and spit the pogey. Needless to say, there are a lot of good sized predators to be caught along the beaches right now. If you have some time and want to get an “arm day” in without hitting the gym, give captain Justin or myself a call at 321-505-8217 to get hooked up to your next memory.

permit

After spending the past week in the Florida Keys, I thought I would give you all a short report from down there. Bonefish and permit are biting very well in the downtown area of Islamorada. The best bite is coming on the first portion of the incoming tide. Live shrimp and silver dollar sized crabs are your best bait option. Once the lemon sharks start showing up, go yellowtail snapper fishing in 50 to 80 feet of water off the reef.
