Got out on the water early last weekend and had a pretty successful day overall. I was a little worried about the wind but fishing close to the shore I was able to hide from most of it. I launched from south Merritt Island and began my day throwing a topwater. I was not getting any bites or even seeing fish but right as I was getting ready to switch it up, a good sized redfish hit it! I am still new to fishing but this 21″ was my personal best Red! After that I switched to throwing a Vudu Shrimp lure and hooked up with quite a few smaller reds and trouts of all sizes. It was a great day, even had a massive jack on that took my for a ride before it spit the hook. Love learning to fish from the kayak, it has been a sweet gift!
