port canaveral snook fishing

This week has been a much better week than last week for fishing along the near coastal waters. The winds switched around and started coming out of the north and north west allowing us to get out on the beach and fish the mullet run once again. The end of the outgoing tide seems to be best right now for snook and redfish The incoming tide has been better for flounder and tripletail. We’ve been using large fingerling mullet on a knocker rig for the first two species and shrimp or small fingerling mullet on a jig head to catch these second two species.

Most of the snook have been juveniles less than 24 inches which is a complete flip flop from the massive snook we had been catching all summer long. The redfish are running from 16 to 45 inches. The tripletail are larger than average with most fish in the 8 to 12-pound range and the flounder are running from 13 to 18 inches. As long as the sea stays calm and the wind stays light, it should continue for the next couple of weeks. If you’d like to grab a charter with us you can book online at our website, Finelinefishingcharters.com, or give us a call directly at 321-505-8217. If we don’t pick up the phone it’s because we’re probably releasing a fish at that time. Let’s go catch your next memory!!
