Happy Monday, everyone, and welcome into a new week. The glass minnows have been moving through from Cocoa Beach south towards Melbourne Beach. We have been seeing multiple Snook, Tarpon, the occasional Sennet and Spanish Mackerel chasing the bait, as well. For the big game game fish, live bait such as hardhead croakers or mullet will work great and those who like to throw artificial start working a 5” swim bait around the edges of the bait pods. Spanish mackerel and Sennet barracudas can be tamed on small spoons, pompano jigs and my favorite, the Maribou crappie jig.
Tight lines and catch them up!
Nice fish there, Shasta! Thanks for reporting, I’m looking forward to seeing more!
Great report man! Do you have any recommendations for color of swim bait? Also what do you think is the lightest leader I could get away with for Snook and Tarpon on the beach?
Hey Knox thanks, all white swim baits with at least a 5/0 3x strong single hook . You can go lighter for the snook at 40# but I would not go lower than 60# for the tarpon. I’ve personally been using 80# and got both snook and tarpon. Catch em up!
Thanks Shasta! Appreciate it brother man!
