After being out of Florida for the past week, I had the urge to hit the beach. With no live fleas I grabbed a bag of blanched frozen fleas that I had put up last year. I fished a beach near my home where I could avoid large crowds and practice social distancing with the occasional beach stroller that would wander by. The morning started slow and the day was warming quickly. A little flurry of activity and I put 2 nice pomps in a bucket of water, As I set about re-baiting and setting the 2 rods, a big wave on the incoming tide dumped my bucket. Despite my best efforts, those 2 pomps remain swimming, leaving me thinking “Friday the 13th! The activity picked up and I landed 4 more keeper pompano and 3 shorts. Kept 10 whiting while sending back 3 smaller ones, 2 catfish and a Jack, which rounded out my morning as I ran out of bait!
