It’s another spectacular August for us here at Fineline Fishing charters. Tarpon action has resumed to the excellent levels that we saw last August. This is not typical for our portion of the coast, but for the last two consecutive years we’ve had the right conditions to hold these fish for extended periods in the late summertime, and the action has been fantastic.

Artificial lures like the Rapala X-Rap and long cast Shallow in the size 12 are working really well during low light periods at dawn and dusk. Saltwater Assassin Artemis Shad tails are extremely effective too. Once the sun comes up an Assassin Little P&V soft plastic lure in watermelon red flake has also been productive on these fish. After about 8 am live baits take over as our go to offerings. Pogies, croakers, and pilchards have been the top three that we are rigging on a VMC 5/0 to 7/0 size circle hook and slow trolling or drifting behind our Skeeter boats. We like to get out early, then get back to the dock before it gets “Africa hot” so climb aboard and let’s go get your rod bent. Tripletail, sharks, snook, and a few others are rounding out the species list for us right now, so if you like variety come and get it.

We are only offering five (5) more Spacefish bonus hour specials for the rest of August, so if you want to take advantage of this and receive a “bonus” hour on any 4 or 5 hour excursion contact us at 321-505-8217 and get hooked up with us today. This is a $100 value, only for our Spacefish readers. Let’s go catch your next memory!!
