Yesterday I took the kayak out to Dummit Creek around Titusville to get out and enjoy the weather. I fished around with some Vudu Shrimp and paddletails on a jig head. For the first few hours I got skunked, and it wasn’t until I moved to the furthest north spot and got out of the wind that I was able to land a couple trout. Nothing big but was happy to get on a few fish to end the day. I have fished this area a couple of times but honestly have not had that much luck and I am not sure how much of that is just operator error. All in all, I was just happy to get out there and enjoy the water and sunshine.

Hey Ben, I’ve been wanting to get up there and check out Dummit Creek myself. Also, what’s your thoughts on the Vudu Shrimp? It looks very realistic, I haven’t tried it myself but have been wanting to check it out.
I have loved using the Vudu Shrimp. They are a bit pricey but so far they have held up well, I have not lost any to fish destroying them. They have a pretty realistic action with the weight on the bottom of the lure. I caught my largest snook on one!
Nice! How do you like to retrieve it? I love the Gulp! Shrimp, but man that material is so soft that after a fish or two caught that lure is toast and if you actually have a good bite going on it you will run out of a pack in a heartbeat.
I normally let it sink to the bottom and then just jig it back. So far the durability has been good but I have not ran into too many toothy critters so we will see how it goes haha.
