Weather permitting, deep dropping for tilefish has been hot! Look for muddy bottom in 600-700 ft. Most tilefish have been caught using a multi hook rig with squid. It will take 4-6lbs. of lead to keep bottom depending on the current. Fishing these depths, most anglers are using an electric rod & reel set up. The Daiwa Tanacom 1000 seems to be the most common, affordable and reliable combo for the money. The kingfish have been chewing on the 90ft bars as well. Keep your eyes peeled for rays. There have been good reports of cobia following the rays. Big reds, snook and tarpon are in Sebastian Inlet.
