It’s May and that means the big beach donkeys are cruising just outside the surf break. These huge jack crevalle are running in small pods of 10 to 20 fish each. They have been extremely receptive to us when casting topwater plugs out in front of them. Sharks and tarpon have been cruising the beaches as well, and we’ve been having very good hook ups on those two species while waiting for an opportunity at these big jacks.
In the lagoon system the water has remained clean enough in a few areas that we are still able to sight cast for big trout, slot size black drum and slot size redfish.
