It’s tournament season in Central Florida and we’ve got an awesome assortment of events we’re covering. Find the details on each event below.

MAY 1 – 31

$25 ENTRY

Sunrise Marina Month of May Dolphin Tournament

FIRST PLACE: $1000 CASH and an Oakley Prize Pack (Oakley Hat and Oakley Polarized Prizm Shades) and Memory Stix 6ft. 4in. Gaff by Adventurous Custom Rods and Captain Jim Ross
SECOND PLACE: $250 CASH and an Oakley Prize Pack (Oakley Hat and Oakley Polarized Prizm Shades)

Central Florida’s Largest Saltwater Fishing Tournament is back another year and presented by Blue Marlin Real Estate. Entry in the tournament is FREE!

Central Florida Shootout

The 2019 CFL Shootout features a weekend of fun, from the Captain’s Party Kick Off on Friday evening, May 10th, through the Grand Prize Giveaway on Sunday Afternoon, May 19th. Over $20,000 in cash prizes will be paid out for the Tournament! Award categories include 10 different species, a general entry category, as well as entry categories for Lady Anglers and Juniors. THE CAPTAINS PARTY (May 10th @ Melbourne Auditorium) is FREE to attend and open to the public! Food, drinks and entertainment along with opportunities to win raffle prizes throughout the night. You can also purchase grand prize raffle tickets [$50] for a chance to win a brand new NauticStar boat which will be drawn at Grills Riverside May 19th. You do not have to fish in the tournament to participate in the raffle.

CFOA 34th Annual Offshore Tournament

The 34th Annual CFOA Offshore Tournament is May 18 at Blue Points Marina.

Top Prize: $2500
Species Prizes: $1000, $500, $250
Ladies Prizes: $500, $250
Junior Prizes: $500, $250
Amberjack: $500 (Does not count towards heaviest fish)
CFOA Members: $500, $200 (CFOA member must catch the fish and it can be combined with other winnings)

JUNE 1

51st Annual FSFA Offshore Slam

Early registration is now open for the FSFA 51st Annual Offshore Slam. Hosted by the Florida Sport Fishing Association in Cape Canaveral, the tournament is June 1, 2019, and boasts big, guaranteed cash prizes including: $12,000 in General Awards, $5,000 Big Fish, and $3,000 SLAM! That totals a GUARANTEED payout of $20k! Don’t miss out on Central Florida’s longest running offshore tournament!

Pompano Derby

In The First Annual Pompano Derby,held by Pompano Riggs by Couture, presented by Strike-Zone Fishing. It’s awesome to see an opportunity for some competitive surf fishing and this will be a really cool event. The Derby kicks off with a captain’s party at Strike-Zone from 6-7pm on March 29th. Fishing is the following two days with the weigh-in at Strike-Zone on Sunday from 1:30pm – 3:30pm. The entry fee is $30 ($10 for juniors 12 and under) and contestants can fish anywhere in Brevard County. There are four divisions: 1) Biggest Pompano, 2) Biggest Whiting, 3) Biggest Trash Fish, and Juniors. Cash prizes are awarded to all first place winners, and tackle prizes will be awarded for 2nd and 3rd place.

APRIL 12-14

Otherside Invitational

In Captain Ed Dwyer’s Otherside Invitational, Central Florida’s top tuna fisherman compete against one another in hopes of capturing the Top Boat title by accumulating the largest 3 tuna aggregate weight. Hundreds of spectators attend the “weigh in” to see the giant yellowfin tuna wheeled to the stage and to be a part of the energy and excitement. Each year spectators walk away with handfuls of giveaways during Capt. Ed’s infamous brain teasers and thousands of dollars in raffle items donated by the generous sponsors of this event.
