This week brought a mix of solid sheepshead action and some productive evening runs to the spoil islands. The sheepshead bite is definitely on the rise, especially along the mangroves and around docks. When you’re working the mangroves, keep an eye out for those roots getting tugged down—sheepshead will give themselves away as they pull barnacles off the roots. If you see that telltale shake, they’re there.

The spoil island bite has stayed hot over the last few weeks, with redfish, snook, and trout all in the mix. I’ve been throwing 3” and 4” paddle tails in the shallows, focusing on areas holding bait, and the action has been steady.
