Good morning al you Sebastian Inlet fanatics! I trust everyone enjoyed the pleasant weekend we had. With that said, off we go with another NOT so hot report, mainly due once again to the nasty ocean conditions at the inlet all last week, and the weekend. The big swell and surf, tons of seaweed and the brisk NNE winds have made a mess of the inlet! Saturday most of the day it rained off and on and there were some anglers out, but no fish except for the usual catfish, jacks and blue runners, all on the north jetty as the south jetty on the high tide was mostly under water during that tide cycle, and was very unsafe to be out there. I don’t have anything “new” to report except for a couple more days the swell will drop down, but by Thursday it is supposed to pick back up to around 6 foot again, and the winds after Monday are supposed to once again pick back up to the 15-20 mph range NNE, and keep the inlet and surrounding area in turmoil. The positive thing I can say though is that the entire week is supposed to be pretty pleasant with mild temps and plenty of sun!
I’m sorry I don’t have any GOOD fishing news, but it is what it is. I don’t fluff things up just to get you out, I only report what I see and hear, and tell it like it is! Everyone have a great week, get out and enjoy the awesome weather!
Hi SNOOKman – Wanted to give you a heads up regarding another loss of access to space coast fishermen in hopes you have connections up the chain. Sebastian Inlet, south side and the south jetty will be closed to fishermen from sunset to 8 am! Only people camping can be there – the entire south side. Yes, this is happening. Blocked access starts next week. They’re saying it about camper safety. Well, they can gate the road down by the campground to keep us safe from the campers. What does fishing on the east side of bridge and jetty have to do with campers anyway. Outrageous! There’s a Nov 12 commission meeting at 430 pm and at the museum on south side by ranger station. I don’t have the followers to get the word out, but this could be an opportunity to gain the attention needed to reverse this course. Hope you can help! Thanks!
